Members are invited to contest for the 2012 Colne Valley “Grand Slam” trophy…

Points will be accumulated from the performance of the horse and rider at the following 3 club events/classes this year:

• Members and Friends/ Family Showjumping in April 
• Dressage in June 
• Clear Round Cross Country September – a clear round, plus performance within a timed section.

A trophy will be presented at the AGM to the highest scoring competitor.

Entry fee is £32 in advance which includes entry to all three phases.

Entries will be limited and closing date will be Friday 7^th April.

Colne Valley Riding Club 2012 Grand Slam Competition Rules

Following discussion by the Committee, we are pleased to clarify the rules for the 2012 Grand Slam competition as follows:-

·        Only Members of Colne Valley Riding Club may enter.

·        Any rider entering the Prelim sections in Dressage must be eligible for the class they are competing in & stay within the designated restrictions.

·        Entries will be limited to 15 members this year – we will assess at the end of the year whether we do it again and whether we can extend entries.

·        Jumping sections can be any height – for example if you do the Novice dressage, you could do the 2’ 3” jumping.

·        The placings will be calculated by a penalty points system combining the negative % score for Dressage, plus Showjumping penalties and Cross Country penalties.  A designated “judge” from the committee will track the progress of competitors over the year and we intend to publish the results for each stage on the website so the competition may be followed.

·        One trophy will be awarded at the AGM for the overall winner.

·        The competition series will be at the following competitions only: Showjumping in April, Dressage in June and XC clear round day in September (which will incorporate a timed section).
