Colne Valley Riding Club has a policy of nominating a charity each year and donations from profits from our shows are made to that charity. This year we have nominated two charities, The Brooke Hospital and The Laminitis Trust and we give below brief information and contact details for both these worthwhile causes.
The Brooke Hospital For Animals.
The Brooke relieves the suffering of horses, donkeys and mules working for poor people in the developing world. Their dedicated local vets and teams provide free care, education and training in the heart of the communities they serve in Egypt, India, Jordan and Pakistan.
The Brooke's aim is to reach millions of working horses and donkeys suffering pain and distress wherever the need is greatest with the proven, sustainable solutions. They will achieve this by forging partnerships and sharing these solutions with local organisations, helping poor communities around the world that are dependent upon working equine animals.

The Laminitis Trust
The Laminitis Trust is a registered charity founded in 1998 which exists to raise money for research into laminitis, a most painful condition that afflicts many horses and ponies. The website provides information on the Trust, as well as access to online research papers, information on prevention and emergency treatment, and on fitting Eustace shoes and frog supports. Information is also provided on Cushing's disease.
