Yet another wet day! However, once again our stalwart members (mad fools!) braved the cold and wet to represent our club at regional level. This time we were at Thorne Court, Shimpling, the home showground of St Edmunds Riding Club, our hosts for the day.
We opted to put just one team forward for the Senior Riding Tests, a qualifying competition for the BRC National Championships held at Lincoln in September. Teams are made up of 4 members, with 2 riding one test and the other 2 riding another test of a higher level. Our riders and horses were:-

Special congratulations to Davinia & Milly who won Riding Test 6 outright and have therefore qualified as individuals for the championship. The other members were placed as follows: Vanessa & Leek - 6th, Catherine & Billy - 6th, Victoria & Marz - 8th.
This resulted in our team being placed 2nd overall; a great result. Due to a technicality, we are awaiting a decision from BRC Head Office on whether or not the team have made it to the championships. Watch this space...
Victoria & Marz also represented us in the Style Jumping, and jumped a lovely round, but competition on the day was very stiff and they were sadly just outside the placings.
St Edmunds Riding Club hosted an Area only (non qualifier) Combined Training event on the day in which we also entered a team. Our 3 competitors were: Vanessa White & Leek, Addie Akers & Master Killerney, Kelly Cole & Sir Jim Bob and they were placed 6th.
Clare Simper and Pebbly Cobweb had also been entered for the Style Jumping and Combined Training but had to withdraw as he was lame. We hope he's back in action now.
