Victoria Littlewood & Catherine Raffe and their long suffering partners (plus Alfie the Corgi!) travelled to Aston-le-Walls in Northamptonshire for the BRC Festival Of The Hunter on the 3rd of June. As the name suggests, this event comprises a Hunter Trial and a showing show held exclusively for hunters and cobs. Victoria & Catherine were so keen to take part that they volunteered themselves to represent the club at their own expense.
We have just received these emails from Victoria and Catherine:-
Hi All,
Just to let you all know Catherine and I have returned from the Festival
of the hunter .... a good time was had by all !
Marz and I came 5th in the Workers and 4th in the lightweight Hunter,
Catherine and Billy won the Cob class and then went on to take Reserve
Champion overall , so well done to them on a great achievement ...

Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments following our adventure at the weekend.
I'm so proud of Billy - he really enjoyed himself and showed his little socks off!!
However, I do have to mention how disappointing it was that, due to a last minute
substitution of one of the judges, 2 of Vicky's classes had some "interesting" results.
Marz is a lovely horse, whom you all know has done well showing, and it was unusual for
him and several other good horses to be overlooked in such a manner. Imagine how great it
would have been had we both been in with a chance for the championship!
